INLD deplores lathicharge on private school teachers
Chandigarh, Mar 27 (UNI) The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has severely condemned the police lathicharge and arrest of Haryana private school owners and teachers at Chandigarh last week.
Criticising Haryana government, INLD Secretary General and Rajya Sabha member Ajay Singh Chautala said today the state government should find an amicable solution to the problem of the teachers in interest of 20,000 private schools of Haryana where about 25 lakh students are studying.
Mr Chautala cautioned the government against using the language of baton and stick. He asked for an unconditional withdrawal of all cases and immediate release of all teachers.
Mr Chautala said the implementation of Haryana School Education Rules-2007 by state government would affect about 25 lakh students and 1.4 lakh teachers. He asked the government to find a way out in which the interests of students and their parents are also guarded along with the interests of teachers and private school owners.
He said school owners should be given some more time to fulfill the conditions relating to the recognition of their schools.
