IIM-Kozhikode hikes fee

Kozhikode, Mar 27 (UNI) The Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIM-K) has decided to hike the fees for the first and second year post-graduate programmes, respectively from the new academic year, beginning from June 2007.

The decision to increase the annual fee was taken at a meeting of Board of Governors held on March 17, an IIM-K official told UNI today.

The revised fee structures were Rs 190,000 for the first year and Rs 195,000 for the second year as against the previous Rs 150,000 and Rs 165,000, respectively, he said.

The institute would accommodate 15 per cent students from Other Backward Classes (OBCS) during the year, he said, adding the rest out of the 27 per cent quota suggested by the HRD Ministry would be implemented in a phased manner.

The Board also decided to increase the intake of students to 190 from the present 180, he added.
