Ten year plan to bring self sufficiency in fish
Agartala, Mar 27: The Tripura government has chalked out an ambitious ten-year plan to increase fish production in the state through modern thechnologies.
In a bid to make the state self-sufficient in fish production, 41 fish cultivators had been sent to West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh, famous for fish production, to earn hands-on training in regard to fish cultivation methods.
The 41 people, who visited West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh, have returned to the state recently and expected that they would be able to utilise their new experiences to increase fish production in this fish loving state.
''Fish is the main menu in this North Eastern hilly state in its daily menu among both Tribal and non-Tribals,'' he said.
