Fuel tanker catches fire, Apna Dal leader hurt
Varanasi, Mar 27: A tanker carrying a large quantity of petroleum products caught fire following a tyre burst in the Bada Lalpur area here early today.
Police said tanker bearing a West Bengal registration number caught fire creating panic in the locality hich houses two petrol pumps.
The local residents tried to douse the fire by throwing water and sand. An Apna Dal leader Vijay Jaiswal suffered minor injuries while trying to extinguish the fire.
Later, fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was doused after three hours.
The driver and cleaner of the tanker managed to escape unhurt, police added.
