Court issues contempt notice to police
Jammu, Mar 27 (UNI) A court here today initiated contempt proceedings against a Station House Officer (SHO) in Doda district for willfully disobeying the directions of the court.
The contempt proceeding has been initiated on an application filed by an advocate, Sheikh Nassir Hussain, before the court alleging that the SHO Kishtawar failed to register FIR against a local contractor despite the directions issued by the court.
The applicant alleged that he had filed a complaint before the court on March 16 in which the court directed the SHO to register a case by treating the complaint as FIR and investigate the matter.
It was further claimed that the copy of the complaint, along with the order was dispatched to the SHO, but till date neither the FIR has been registered as per the directions nor any investigation has been done in the matter.
After hearing the complainant in person, Chief Judicial Magistrate Kishtwar issued a showcause notice to the SHO who has been asked to show as to why the contempt proceedings not be initiated against him under the law.
