Cauvery stir continues in K'taka
Mysore, Mar 27 (UNI) The agitation by farmers and various pro-Kannada organisations against the final award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal in the Cauvery basin region entered the 51st day today.
Dharnas and protests continued in Mandya, Maddur, Srirangapatna and Pandavapura.
In Mysore, the Mysore university non-teaching staff members staged a demonstration and submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner's office.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, led by its President Narayana Gowda, took out a rath yatra from Bhagamandala in Kodagu district to reach Bangalore tomorrow.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the agitation would be further intensified from March 31. The Vedike also planed to take out a massive rally to New Delhi during the last week of April.
