'UP poll will change national political equation'

Siddharthnagar, Mar 26: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today indicated change in national political equation after the state assembly poll.

Addressing an election meeting at the adjoining Sant Kabir Nagar district headquarters, Mr Yadav also hinted at a significant role to be played by the SP in this regard.

''The whole nation and all the leaders are keenly watching the coming UP assembly poll,'' he added.

The CM alleged that all the major political parties are united on dislodging the SP government from the state.

''Congress, BSP and BJP first tried to impose President's rule in UP. However, after failing in their endeavours, they are trying to implicate me in false cases and finish off SP,'' he reiterated.

The former defence minister noted only SP could defeat communal forces. ''Today, most states have BJP-led governments.

If SP had not defeated BJP in the last general poll, the party would have been ruling the centre.'' Mr Yadav promised free education, hiking unemployment allowance and government jobs to all the unemployed youth or employment opportunities, if voted to power in UP.

''The farmers would get 24 hrs power supply in the next two yrs, besides a provision of Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia in event of their suddent death,'' he announced from the podium.
