Tamizhar Kazhagam stages demo in Pondy

Puducherry, Mar 26: Volunteers of the Tamizhar Dravidar Kazhagam today staged a demonstration near the Venkatasubba Reddiyar statue here to condemn the killing of Tamil fishermen by the Sri Lankan navy.

They alleged that the Central and state governments were not initiating any action to prevent the reoccurence of such incidents.

Leaders of several political parties including MDMK had greeted them.

Meanwhile, the librarians association here today staged a dharna infront of the Chief Secretariate to press their demands.

Their demands included time bound promotion for librarians who had 24 years of service, filling up of vacant posts etc.
