Symposium on vernacular press in MP

Bhopal, Mar 26: Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar will on March 29 inaugurate a symposium on 'The Role of Indian Vernacular Newspapers in Indian Democracy' being organised by the Indian Language Newspapers' Association (ILNA).

The Chief Speaker will be Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism Vice-Chancellor Achyutanand Mishra, an ILNA release said here. The event, under the guidance of ILNA President Sunil Dang, would be presided over by the Nai Dunia newspaper's Chief Editor Abhay Chhajlani while Swadesh Group of Newspapers Chairman and former ILNA chief Rajendra Sharma would be the Convenor.

Directors of vernacular newspapers are expected to take part and a meeting of the ILNA National Executive is also on the agenda while Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would preside over the valedictory programme.
