Rectified final BPL list to be made by July: Nitish

today
announced
in
the
Assembly
to
publish
the
final
Below
Poverty
Line(BPL)
list
after
rectifying
it
by
July
2007.
In
his
statement
in
both
Houses
Mr
Kumar
said
the
government
had
accorded
top
priority
to
the
issue
and
was
committed
to
rectifying
the
anomalies.
He
said
directions
were
issued
by
the
rural
development
department
in
December
to
correct
the
errors
in
the
computerised
list
made
on
the
basis
of
the
original
list
of
the
families.
He
said
copy
of
the
rectified
list
would
be
given
to
the
members
of
the
legislature,
mukhiya,
ward
members,
panchayat
members,
zila
parshad
and
other
public
representatives.
Mr
Kumar
said
block
level
arrangements
had
been
made
to
register
complaints
in
the
list
which
would
be
videographed
to
prevent
any
irregularity.
He
said
the
complaints
would
be
made
in
April
and
also
probed
locally.
Admitting
the
anomalies
in
the
computerised
list
Mr
Kumar
said
the
corected
list
would
be
sent
to
the
gram
panchayats
for
proper
verification
and
inquiry.He
informed
the
members
that
the
revised
list
would
be
further
reviewed
by
a
10-member
committee
comprising
six
public
representatives
and
for
government
officials
well
versed
with
the
local
area
of
their
jurisdiction.
Before
preparation
of
the
finally
corrected
list
it
would
be
approved
by
the
gramsabha
in
May.
The
list
would
be
made
in
June
and
published
in
July.
Mr
Kumar
informed
the
House
about
the
steps
taken
for
enhancement
of
kerosene
oil
quota
for
the
BPL
and
Above
Poverty
Line(APL)
families
and
announced
to
provide
4
litres
of
kerosine
oil
every
month
to
both
categories.
Meanwhile,
some
of
the
members
of
the
Opposition,
including
those
of
the
Rashtriya
Janata
Dal(RJD),
CPI(M),
Congress
and
others
created
an
uproar
in
the
state
assembly
demanding
cancellation
of
the
coupon
distributed
on
the
basis
of
the
existing
BPL
list.
Later
the
RJD
members
walked
out
of
the
Lower
House
in
support
of
their
demands.
