PMC to join demo against port development project

Puducherry, Mar 26: The Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC) today extended support to the procession and demonstration, in front of the Legislative Assembly, to be organised by the 'People's Protection Committee tomorrow opposing the port development project here.

Addressing a press conference here party spokesman K Lakshminarayanan MLA, also a member of the Committee, said party volunteers and legislators would take part in the procession tomorrow, on the opening day of the budget session of the Territorial Assembly.

He demanded the government to drop the project as it would not be beneficial to the people. PMC was also opposed to the setting up of satellite towns here, he added.
