LG to continue its bonding with cricket

Electronics,
an
official
global
sponsor
of
Cricket
World
Cup
2007,
today
said
it
will
continue
its
association
with
the
sport.
The
company
will
not
make
any
changes
in
the
planned
marketing
outlay.
''In
terms
of
advertising
and
marketing
spends,
LG
Electronics
will
not
make
any
changes
in
its
commitments.
We
believe
that
cricket
as
a
sport
in
itself
holds
a
larger
interest
for
all
and
avid
cricket
fans
shall
continue
to
follow
the
matches
right
up
to
the
finals,''

said.
The
company's
association
with
cricket
is
based
on
the
passionate
fan
following
for
the
game
and
not
tied
with
the
fortunes
of
any
team
or
player,
he
added.
Eyeing
a
300
per
cent
growth
in
flat
panel
display
television
sales
and
75
per
cent
increase
in
colour
televisions,
LG
had
said
it
would
invest
Rs
50
crore
in
marketing
initiatives
during
the
cricket
extravaganza.
It
launched
a
limited
edition
cricket
series
television
range
in
three
models.
