Kalpana Chawla planetarium to be ready in 4 months

The
prestigious
Kalpana
Chawla
Memorial
Planetarium
being
set
up
at
Kurukshetra
at
a
cost
of
Rs
6.50
crore
would
be
functional
during
the
first
quarter
of
the
next
financial
year.
While
stating
this
here
today,
Deputy
Chief
Minister
Chander
Mohan,
who
holds
the
portfolio
of
science
and
technology
said
that
it
would
have
a
12
meter
dome
and
a
seating
capacity
for
120
persons.
He
said
against
the
outlay
of
Rs
6.60
crore,
the
science
and
technology
department
had
made
an
expenditure
of
Rs
10.30
crore
during
the
first
four
years
of
the
10th
Five
Year
Plan.
He
said
that
a
provision
of
Rs
three
crore
had
been
made
by
the
government
for
implementation
of
various
schemes.
He
said
the
Department
had
also
finalised
a
comprehensive
plan
for
overall
development
of
the
state.
He
said
that
the
office
building
of
Science
and
Technology
Department
was
being
constructed
at
Panchkula
at
a
cost
of
Rs
1.48
crore
and
the
construction
work
had
already
started.
