Strong quake measuring 7. 5 strikes South Pacific
Tokyo, Mar 25: A strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.2 occurred today morning near Vanuatu in the South Pacific, the US Geological Survey reported.
Japan's Kyodo news agency reported the quake had a magnitude of 7.3.
The quake, at (0610 IST), occurred around the same time as a large quake jolted the western coast area of central Japan.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage from the Vanuatu earthquake, which the USGS said was centred 337 km south-south-east of the capital, Port Vila.
