Jharkhand: JMM vows to fight against insurgency
Jamshedpur,Mar 25: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha(JMM) has agreed to hold talks with the naxalites if they shunned violence, otherwise the party vowed to wage a one to one battle to combat the extremists in the state.
Addressing a condolence meeting to pay homage to the slain JMM MP from Jamshedpur and the party general secretary Sunil Mahto here last evening, the JMM leaders, including the deputy chief minister Sudhir Mahto, and the state land reforms and revenue minister Dulal Bhuiyan, warned that the party would not hesitate to launch ''Sendra''(Hunt) against the Maoists if they did not abstain from 'clandestined killings' of the politicians and the innocent people.
The JMM leaders also unanimously endorsed the candidature of the slain leader's widow Suman Mahto for the coming by-election to the Jamshedpur seat.
Mrs Mahto expressed her gratitude to the party members in particular and the citizens in general for lending support in the hour of crisis and said she would carry forward the unfinished work of her hunsband.
Speaking on the occasion the deputy chief minister said extremism and terrorism had become an international problem now and held responsible the capitalists and the mafias for the rise of such subversive acitivities.
He said changes could not be brought about with guns and talks with democratic way would be only way to resolve the insurgency problem.
The meeting was also attended by the JMM supremo Shibu Soren's wife Rupi Soren,his son Hemant Soren and a hosts of party MPs and MLAs.
