GCPL-SCA Hygiene Prod AB, Sweden form JV

Mumbai, Mar 25: Sweden-based SCA Hygiene Products AB, a cent per cent subsidiary of the SCA Group, and Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) today announced that they had inked an agreement to form a Joint Venture company to manufacture and market paper based absorbent hygiene products like sanitary napkins and baby diapers in India, Nepal and Bhutan.

SCA and Godrej Consumer Products Limited will be equal partners in the Joint Venture incorporated as 'Godrej SCA Hygiene Limited', an official statement disclosed The new entity harbours ambitions of launching several prominent global brands in India. Under the terms of the agreement, GCPL will sell it's popular 'Snuggy' brand to the new company, the statement adds.
