Bangkok's international airport reopens
Bangkok, Mar 25: Bangkok's international airport reopened today for domestic flights with three airlines, including the national carrier, starting the services.
Renamed Don Muang Iinternational Airport, it will be used by Thai Airways International, Orient Thai and Nok Air.
The reopening of the airport became necessary in view of the ongoing repair work on some defective runways and other facilities at the new Suvarnabhumi Airport, which opened on 28 September last year.
Don Muang will handle about 20 per cent of the passenger air traffic while domestic flights with international connections will be handled by Suvarnabhumi.
