SIB's total core banking solution implementation

Bangalore, Mar 24: The Kerala based private bank, South Indian Bank (SIB) today celebrated total implementation of core banking solution in all its 475 branches across the country in 23 states and union territories.

Infosys Chief Mentor N R Narayanamurthy, who participated in the celebrations, commended the Bank in celebrating the event a month after the effective implementation was completed.

He said that modernisation could help the Bank perform better and offer new products to its customers, The Bank had chosen Infosys banking solution product Finacle, while Wiprotech and HCL provided the technological partnership for networking and implementation of the project which was completed in about six years time.

Bank Chairman V A Joseph speaking on the occasion said that the implementation was completed well ahead of the targeted date of March 31.

The Bank had crossed a major milestone of surpassing total business of Rs 20,000 crore this year and was planning to open 25 more branches, he added. ''We have completed core banking implementation even as many other prominent banks have only just begun the initiative'' he added. The bank's core banking network was largest after ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank, he added.
