Object Frontier S/w signs deal with Technosat

Chennai, Mar 24: Leading IT service provider Object Frontier Software (OFS) today announced that they have signed a US Dollar 20 million deal with a leading satellite equipment provier Technosat for manufacturing set top boxes to south Asian markets.

With the current sign-up, OFS would be supplying three million boxes by next year to south Asian markets including India, Oceanic group, the part of OFS, chairman and Managing Director Joseph Raj told newspersons here.

"Winning this project is a significant milestone in our strategy towards creating a strong value proposition in emerging areas like embedded systems", he added.

Mr Joseph said "OFS was working on a royalty based model where they would be assured of a sum of three million USD in the first of its operation and 20 million in the next five years, which would be paid on each satellite box sold".

"OFS has previsously worked on a similar platform for a UK based company in providing remote control systems for handicapped patients", he said adding "with satellite boxes becoming a necessity in most developing countries, Technosat has emerged as one of the key players in the market".
