K'taka: More free seats for Engineering in CET

Mysore, Mar 24: The Karnataka government has decided to increase the number of free seats to 26,000 from 21,000 for Engineering course in the CET, Minister for Higher Education D H Shankaramurthy said today.

Talking to newsmen here, he said that similarly the number of free seats in Medical course was also increased by 600.

Stating that more than two decade old ban on recruitment of Lecturers for the First Grade Colleges has been withdrawn and the Colleges have been permitted to recruit 9,500 Lecturers.

He said that the services of 225 local candidates in Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) would be regularised within a month.
