Agitation against Cauvery verdict enters 49th day

Mysore, Mar 24: Agitation and protest demonstration against the final verdict of the Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal (CWDT) by the farmers in the Cauvery basin districts of Mysore, Mandya and Chamarajanagara entered 49th day.

In Mandya Town, the relay hunger strike by the members of the Cauvery Raitha Hitha Rakshna Samithi continued in Silver Jubilee Park, while protest and demonstration continued in Maddur, K R Pet, Pandavapura and other Taluks in the District.

Janata Dal (United)'s 'Awareness Jatha' led by its State President b Somasekhar took out padayatra in Chamarajanagar urging the State government to bring pressure on the Union government not to notify the final award of the CWDT.

In Mysore dharna by the members of Cauvery Kriya Samithi continued in K R Circle.
