Woolmer family to issue statement on Friday
Cape Town, Mar 23: The family of Bob Woolmer are planning to issue a statement in response to police reports that the Pakistan cricket coach was murdered, a spokeswoman answering the family's phone told sources today.
''The family has nothing to say at the moment but a statement will be issued once we have the full details,'' she said.
''It will be later today (Friday) but I'm not sure when,'' said the woman who identified herself as a family friend.
Woolmer, 58, was found unconscious in his Jamaican hotel room on Sunday and died later.
Jamaican police launched a murder inquiry on Thursday after reporting that the Briton's death was ''due to asphyxia as a result of manual strangulation''.
