Storm kills 10 in Bangladesh, 100 injured
Dhaka, Mar 23: At least 10 people were killed and 100 injured in Bangladesh after the summer's first storm swept through a southern island district, police and residents today said.
The storm, with winds of up to 80 kmh, damaged around 300 houses in Lalmohan and Borhanuddin villages in the district of Bhola late yesterday.
Nearly 100 people were in hospital with cuts and bruises caused by flying debris, police and doctors told reporters.
Summer storms that occur between March and June kill hundreds of people in Bangladesh every year.
