Storm kills 10 in Bangladesh, 100 injured

10
people
were
killed
and
100
injured
in
Bangladesh
after
the
summer's
first
storm
swept
through
a
southern
island
district,
police
and
residents
today
said.
The
storm,
with
winds
of
up
to
80
kmh,
damaged
around
300
houses
in
Lalmohan
and
Borhanuddin
villages
in
the
district
of
Bhola
late
yesterday.
Nearly
100
people
were
in
hospital
with
cuts
and
bruises
caused
by
flying
debris,
police
and
doctors
told
reporters.
Summer
storms
that
occur
between
March
and
June
kill
hundreds
of
people
in
Bangladesh
every
year.
