Auditions begin for Indian Idol 3
Kolkata, Mar 23 (UNI) After scripting a sucess story with its first and second season, 'Indian Idol 3' is all set to take the nation by storm.
The three judges of 'Indian idol 3'--singers Udit Narayan and Alisha Chinai and music director Anu Maliik--were in the city last night to motivate Kolkatans to come forward and take part in the auditions to be conducted here on March 24, 25 and 26.
'Indian Idol', the hugely popular adaptation of 'American Idol' format, served as a platform for budding singers from across the nation to realise their dreams. From its inception in 2004-5 the show took millions of Indians to towering heights of sheer frenzy propelling them to live their dreams.
The judges would be whittling down thousands of aspirants to a deserving few based on certain parameters.
While Alisha would prefer someone with four C's--charisma, creativity, chart busting qualities and consistency, Udit Narayan would be looking for 'one voice' that would stir the soul of the nation.
However, Anu Maliik would prefer an aspirant having sound knowledge of both Indian and Western music.
''Bengal is a land of arts and culture and I am hopeful that the next Indian idol, after Abhijeet Sawant and Sandeep Acharya, would be from Kolkata,'' Maliik added.
But only time will tell whether Kolkata can give India the next idol.
