Witness turns hostile in Papiya case
Patna, Mar 22 (UNI) A witness in the much hyped Prof Papiya Gosh murder case today took a ''U'' turn during his deposition in court.
During the day, Kumar Ranjan Singh was produced before fast track court judge of Patna Om Prakash as fourth witness in the case.
During deposition, the witness denied the recovery of any looted articles from the possession of any accused in his presence. On the prayer of prosecution, the witness was declared hostile by the Court.
Later, special public prosecutor J P Singh by filing a petition in court, prayed to prosecute the witness for giving false evidence on oath, which was kept on record.
A Professor of Patna university, Miss Papiya Ghosh and her maid servant Malti Devi were killed by miscreants when they resisted the dacoity in the house of the former situated under Patliputra police station area of the state capital in the night of December,02,2006.
