Village Accountant sentenced to 2 yrs SI
Bangalore, Mar 22 (UNI) A lower court has convicted and sentenced a Village Accountant to undergo two years simple imprisonment in a case pertaining to receiving a bribe of Rs 3,000 to show official favour.
The court in Bijapur also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on Subashchandra Ramagondappa Mendegara, Village Accountant, Kannura, Bijapur district, in default of which to undergo six more months simple imprisonment.
The prosecution case was that Mr Mendegara was caught red handed on July eight, 2003, while accepting the bribe from the complainant, Badasha Ameensab Balebai, to issue khata certificate in the name of his father, according to a Lok Ayukta release here today.
