Two students end their lives in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, March 22 (UNI) Two female students ended their lives in two separate incidents here.

Ishita Patel (17), a student of Class XI in Sharda Mandir High School jumped to her death yesterday from the terrace of her house in Naranpura area of the city. She was immediately rushed to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries, police said.

Police are yet to ascertain the cause of her death.

In another incident, Aastha Shah, a Second Year BSc student of R G Shah Science College committed suicide by jumping into the Narmada Canal, police said.

According to police, Shah might have taken the drastic step after she lost her exam receipt. They said she had appeared for an exam on March 15 and was to take another paper on March 20. She was however, disturbed by her inability to trace her receipt. A day before her exams, she left her home without telling anyone. Later, her body was fished out of the canal and her parents were informed, police added.
