Tributes paid to Capt Harshan

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 22 (UNI) Rich tributes were today paid to Late Captain Harshan R of 2 PARA (Special Forces) and Naik Ratish Kumar of 515 Engineer Regiment who were killed in separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir.

Their bodies were brought in by Indian flight this afternoon and tributes were paid at Shradhanjalisthan at the Airport.

Floral wreaths were placed on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff and other senior army officials here along with tributes from State Administration.

An official release said earlier, tributes were paid to Captain Harshan by Lt Gen AS Sekhon, GOC 15 Corps during Wreath-laying Ceremony at Badami Bagh, Cantt. Srinagar and floral wreaths were laid on behalf of all ranks before the last remains were dispatched to Kerala.

An alumnus of the Sainik School, Kazhakootam and National Defence Academy, Capt Harshan R volunteered for the Special Forces and was commissioned into 2 PARA (SF) on December 10, 2002.
