Seven-day judicial custody for Simranjeet Kaur
Ghaziabad, Mar 22 (UNI) A court here today remanded in judicial custody dismissed Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector Simranjeet Kaur, arrested in Meerut by the CBI yesterday in connection with the Nithari killings.
Special CBI Judge Sapna Mishra sent Simranjeet in seven-day judicial custody.
The former Nithari chowki in charge had been arrested following an FIR in the rape and murder of one Payal, the case that helped unearth the killings of several women and children in Nithari, Noida.
The investigative agency also filed a chargesheet in the matter.
Simranjeet was the Investigative Officer in the case when it was first taken up for investigation by the local police.
An investigation conducted by the CBI had revealed that Simaranjeet took 'gifts and gratification' for herself and other people from accused Moninder Singh Pandher and ''concocted incorrect records'' with an intention to try and save him and his servant Surender Koli from legal dragnet.
