Primary teachers take out procession in city
Kolkata, Mar 22 (UNI) Protesting the examination system in primary classes, 'Bangiya Prathamik Sikshak Samity' took out a procession with school children in the city today demanding a change in the policy.
Alleging the present system under which a student was not required to pass to get promoted in the primary section, the teachers said the policy was causing damage to the future of the school children.
They also protested against the gradation system to be introduced in the secondary level and said poverty was the main reason for largescale dropouts.
A delegation of the teachers submitted identical memoranda in this regard in the offices of the Governor and the Chief Minister.
