"Palathulli" puraskaram announced

Kottayam, Mar 22 (UNI) Panvally Poochakkal M A M L P School in Alappuzha district and Mar Athanasius College, Kothamangalam have been selected for the Rs one lakh ''Palathulli Puraskaram'' instituted by the Malayala Manorama for the best Water-Environment - friendly school and college respectively.

The puraskaram was announced on World Water Day today.

B K Sen, a physically handicapped teacher of the Venjaramoodu Government L P School, Thiruvananthapuram, has won the puraskaram for the best teacher who gave active leadership for water environment activities. He was selected for the award for his contribution to creating awareness on water-environment management among students despite being disabled.

District level winners of the puraskaram from the school category would get Rs 10,000 each. Koothuparambu Nirmalagiri College and Chengannur Ala S N College bagged the second and third prize respectively.
