Opposition stages walk out in protest over
Gandhinagar, Mar 22 (UNI) The Congress today staged a walkout from the Gujarat Assembly, demanding more time to discuss the Budgetary demands.
Opposition leaders said insufficient time has been allocated to discuss budgetary demands of various departments.
Leader of the opposition Arjun Modhwadia and Congress whip Balwantsinh Rajput protested that very less time was allotted to discuss budgetary demands of three departments : Forest, Environment, Adivasis and Youth affairs.
Speaker Mangaldas Patel agreed to extend assembly time by one hour for these departments.
However, the opposition was not satisfied and Mr Modhwadia demanded at least 2 hours extension.
With Government refusing to oblige, the Congress members led by Mr Modhwadia staged a walkout from the house.
