Man sentenced to life for killing cousin brother

Baripada, Mar 22 (UNI) Mayurbhanj District and Sessions Judge Sribatsa Kumar Pradhan has convicted one Dasarathi Dehuri(38) alias ''Daaku'' under section 302 IPC and sentenced him to Rigorous Imprisonment for life for killing his distant related brother.

The District Judge in his verdict pronounced on Wednesday also ordered that the accused must pay a fine of Rs.500 and in case of failure he would undergo imprisonment for further term of three years.

According to the prosecution accused Dasarathi killed his cousin brother Basanta Kumar Nayak on April 23,2005, with a dagger following some domestic disputes.

The conviction of Dasarathi was based on eye-witness accounts and other evidences adduced during the trial.
