Law University to be set up in Hubli
Bangalore, Mar 22 (UNI) The Karnataka Government has decided to set up a Law University in Hubli, likely to start courses from the next academic year, Home, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister M P Prakash informed the Legislative Council today.
Replying to the issue raised by Congress member Saleem Ahmed during question hour, he said the State Government had appointed a special officer to set in motion the proposal to start a law varsity, for which land had been identified. The Government had released Rs 23 lakhs for the purpose. All necessary grants would be provided to develop infrastructure facilities for the university, he assured.
The Minister said a Bill had been presented in the Lower House in this regard and it was expected to be passed by both the Houses in this session itself.
