Kerala not against SEZ: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 22 (UNI) Kerala Industries Minister Elamaram Karim today said the state government was not against the setting up of Special Economic Zones (CEZ).

Replying to questions in the Assembly, the Minister said the Centre had sanctioned 11 SEZs in the state and applications for another three were pending before it.

The interests of the state would be affected if it took a stand against SEZ, on its own, he said adding, ''if other states also decide against setting up SEZ, we will also do the same''.
