Innocent will not be harassed: Badal
Chandigarh, Mar 22 (UNI) Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today assured the Punjab assembly that no innocent would be harassed by his government.
''If a person has done no wrong, we will not harass him and will take action only against those concerened'', Mr Badal said while intervening in the discussion on the motion of thanks on the Governor's address in the Assembly.
The Chief Minister gave this assurance to the Leader of the Opposition Rajinder Kaur Bhattal. Mrs Bhattal while raising a point of order during the debate on the Governor's address, alleged family members of absconding former Congress MLA, Jasbir Singh Dimpa were being harassed.
Mrs Bhattal raised the issue after Transport Minister Master Mohan Lal of the BJP made a reference to Dimpa during the debate.
Dimpa has been booked in a criminal case registered against him and 14 others following the death of a Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) worker during the election campaign in the Beas assembly constituency. Dimpa who was the Congress candidate from Beas had lost the election and has been on the run after a lower court issued warrants of arrest against him.
