House panel to probe SEB irregularities

Bhopal, Mar 22 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani today announced that the house committee headed by BJP member Kailash Chawla will probe into the irregularities in the generating units of the State Electricity Board.

The committee was formed in response to Energy Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya's earlier assurance in this regard after both ruling and opposition members alleged decline in generation despite higher fuel consumption and not settling accounts with the Coalfields, which supplied less quantity of coal in comparison to payment made.

The committee members include among others Mr Satyadeo Katare, Ms Sudha Jain, Mr Ramlakhan Sharma and Mr Rajvardhan Singh.
