Cop wrongly summons fire brigade

Shajapur, MP, Mar 22 (UNI) An inquiry has been ordered after a head constable, posted here, summoned fire brigade personnel though there was no blaze.

After the potable water supply line in the Police Lines became jammed yesterday, personnel began deliberating on seeking the fire brigade's aid. Head Constable Sheshmani Mishra reported a 'blaze' in the Lines and fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot.

''The probe was ordered against the personnel stationed in the Lines. Additional Superintendent Manohar Singh Jamra is the investigating officer,'' said Superintendent of Police Asha Mathur.

Devotees at a Navratri fair in the local Rajrajeshwar temple area became apprehensive on observing the rushing fire engines with wailing sirens.
