Conductor arrested for misbehaving
Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, Mar 22 (UNI) A 52-year-old conductor of Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus was put behind the bars for allegedly misbehaving with a woman passenger in a bus, here today.
Police sources said the victim, wife of Samuel Jayakumar, a policeman working as a driver of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Tiruchirapalli range, was returning in the government bus alone from Palani to Tiruchirapalli, late last night. The bus conductor Gurumani, sitting behind her under the cover of darkness had allegedly misbehaved with her. Despite her resistance, Gurumani continued to trouble her.
When the bus reached Vaiyampatti village, she rang up her husband and complained about the conductor.
Samuel in turn had informed the Cantonment police station. When the bus reached the Central bus stand here this morning a police team inquired the conductor about his misbehaviour.
Gurumani denied the complaint of the woman and at one stage he abused the woman and even challenged the police personnel.
However, he was arrested by the police and put behind the bars, under sections 328, 354 and 294 (B) of the IPC.
