Two IT SEZs in Vizag: Minister

Hyderabad, Mar 21 (UNI) Two Information Technology (IT) Special Economic Zones are being set up in Visakhapatnam, IT Minister P Sabita Reddy informed the Andhra Pradesh Assembly today.

Replying to T Gurumurthi Reddy and other Congress members, she said nine IT companies had been allotted land in the 40.7 acre first SEZ and another 10 companies in the 91.08 acre second SEZ.

The companies were selected by a Consultative Committee comprising representatives of IT Industry Associations, various departments in the Government such as Information and Communications Department, Municipal Administration, Transmission Corporation, Registration of Stamps, Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) and Software Technology Parks of India, she said.

The land price charged by the APIIC was Rs 28 lakh per acre, including Rs 18 lakh towards development cost, she added.
