Ten prisoners to be shifted from Siwan jail after clash

Siwan, Mar 21 (UNI) The jail administration today ordered transfer of ten prisoners to restore order in Siwan jail following a clash between two groups including that of incarcerated RJD MP Md Shahabuddin.

Inspector General (Prison) Sandeep Poundrik today issued the directives to shift nine prisoners to Bhagalpur central jail, while another one had been asked to be shifted to Gopalganj jail.

He said the prisoners would be shifted from Siwan jail tonight.

Meanwhile, sources at Siwan jail said security arrangements had been made to shift the prisoners.

Earlier, some prisoners had sustained injuries during yesterdays clash between the rival groups inside the jail premises following which the police had to resort to lathicharge to restore order in the jail.

Two separate FIRs were also lodged against the RJD MP and his supporters in this connection.
