Students Islamic Org protest against Sex Education
Bangalore, Mar 21: Members of the Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) today staged a demonstration here, condemning introduction of the sex education programme in all CBSE and State run schools across the country.
The demonstrators alleged that the sex education programme was introduced under the influence of UNICEF and western condom/contraceptives manufacturing Multi-national companies who view the country as a potential market.
They alleged in a press release here that SIO was convinced that providing sex education at a younger age would have multiple, harmful and long term consequences such as increased rates of infection with sexually transmitted diseases, increased rates of out-of-wedlock pregnancy and birth, increased rates of single parenthood, decreased marital stability, increased maternal and child poverty, increased abortion, increased depression and decreased adult happiness. Moreover, it would increase the girl drop-out rate as people in rural areas would not approves.
SOI demanded the State government immediately repeal the sex education programme from schools across the state.
