Precious metals firm up

Mumbai, Mar 21 (UNI) Precious metals were on the upswing on firm global advices with Silver up by Rs 100 per kg and Gold by Rs 40 per ten gm on the Bombay Bullion Exchange.

Silver rose at Rs 19,525 per kg on good demand. Later, it improved and closed at Rs 19,570 per kg, with a gain of Rs 100 from yesterday's close.

In London, Silver was high at USD 13.35/13.39 per troy ounce against USD 13.29/13.31 per troy ounce in New York.

Similarly, standard Gold (99.5) and pure Gold (99.9) opened upward at Rs 9,355 and Rs 9,405 per ten gm on fresh industrial demand.

The yellow metal further increased and closed at Rs 9,370 and Rs 9,415, with a gain of Rs 45 for standard gold and Rs 40 for pure Gold from their last close.

In London, the yellow metal also inched up at USD 660.10/662.00 per troy ounce as compared to USD 653.40/655.00 per troy ounce in New York on Tuesday.
