Police exchange fire with Maoists
Visakhapatnam, Mar 21 (UNI) The Special Police Party, engaged in anti-insurgency operations, today exchanged fire with the Maoists at the Singanakota Forest near here.
Police sources said no one was injured from both the sides in the firing that lasted for about 30 minutes.
Police officials were monitoring the situation and directed the special police party to be more vigilant during combing operations in the guerrilla zone comprising agency area G K Veedhi Chintapalli and Koyyuru Mandals.
Police recovered one .303 rifle and two kitbags from the area.
