Maoists clashes kills 10 in Nepal
Kathmandu, Mar 21 (UNI) About 10 people, including seven Maoist cadres and two women were killed in a clash between the rebels and activists of the Madhesi People's Rights Forum (MPRF) in southern Nepal today.
The district administration has imposed curfew in the area to control the situation.
According to a local radio, about 35 others were injured in crossfire between the activists Maoist and MPRF's activists in Gaur, about 200 Km south of capital Kathmandu.
Reports also said the clash occurred when the Maoists obstructed a mass gathering that was scheduled to be organised by the Forum in Gaur today.
More than three dozen were killed due to the protest of MPRF in the Terai region of Nepal last month.
The Madhesi group has demanded that the government provide more jobs and seats in Parliament for its people, as the groups said it faces discrimination by Nepal's political elites.
Additional police have been sent to the place to bring the situation under control and the curfew has being imposed till tomorrow morning.
