Kolkata, Mar 21 (UNI) Taking out a protest march, the Trinamool Congress-led Krishi Jami Raksha Committee today demanded resignation of West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee owning responsibility for the Nandigram firing.

The day was also observed as 'Nandigram Divas' in memory of those killed in the March 14 incident.

Parading a two-km stretch from Rabindranath Tagore's residence at Jorasanko, the processionists converged in a rally at College Square in North Kolkata.

Alleging that the police and CPI(M) men had committed a heinous crime, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee demanded immediate dismissal of the Left Front Government.

She alleged that both Government and the CPI(M) were lying on what had happened in Nandigram and the magnitude of the incident was much larger than what was officially stated.
