J'khand Speaker accepts Namdhari's resignation

Ranchi, Mar 21 (UNI) Jharkhand Speaker Alamgir Alam today accepted the resignation of his predecessor and senior JD(U) MLA Inder Singh Namdhari.

Assembly sources confirmed that the Speaker accepted Mr Namdhari's letter, which was submitted on March 11, yesterday.

Mr Namdhari, after resigning, said he had quit the Assembly membership after JD(U) declined his request for supporting the BJP candidate in the March 29 bypoll to the Palamu Parliamentary seat.

Meanwhile, Oppostion leader and former chief minister Arjun Munda said the Speaker should not have accepted the resignation as Mr Namdhari, during his speakership, did not do so in a similar incident.
