Indian flight IC 854 makes emergency landing

Kolkata, Mar 21 (UNI) An inebriated Mexican today threatened to blow up the Delhi bound IC 854 forcing the commander to make an emergency landing at the NSCBI airport here.

According to an Indian spokesperson the foreigner, E Antonio, punched a fellow passenger and also misbehaved with others, including the cabin crew. When the cabin crew tried to calm him down he aked them not to mess with him and threatened to blow up the plane.

The commander of the aircraft, from Bangkok to Delhi, sensing a '' threat perception '' asked the Air Traffic Control for permission to make an emergency landing.

The plane was taken to an isolated place where all the 82 passengers were offloaded along with their luggage. Personnel of the bomb detection and disposal squad of the Bureau of Civil aviation Security searched the aircraft.

The foreigner was searched but nothing incriminating was found on him, an airport official stated. He was later arrested.
