I have no political ambitions: Himanshu
Bhopal, Mar 21 (UNI) Himanshu Sabharwal, son of late Professor H S Sabharwal, who was killed in student violence last year, does not intend to give political colour to the issue but just wants justice.
''I do not believe in political ideology of the Congress or any other party. I only seek action against my father's killers,'' he said, in a statement here.
He alleged the BJP was trying to cover up the incident because of involvement of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) workers despite the fact that Deputy Inspector General of Police A K Sharma had questioned the role of ABVP workers and some police officials in the matter.
Asserting that witnesses were being pressurised in connection with the matter, he expressed grief and surprise that a college professor was killed in public glare but the whole college staff was silent.
Demanding a CBI probe into the matter, he said he hoped to get justice from the Supreme Court.
Ujjain's Madhav College Prof H S Sabharwal was beaten to death by a student irked over the postponement of student union elections on August 26, 2006.
The CID, which was entrusted with the investigation into the matter, had named six ABVP workers, including the then state ABVP President Narendra Singh Tomar, and arrested them. All the accused were lodged the jail at present.
