Patna, Mar 21 (UNI) Patna High Court today adjourned hearing till tomorrow the case challenging the acquittal of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi by the lower court in connection with the disproportionate assets(DA) case.

A single bench of justice Ramesh Kumar Datta adjourned the hearing on the plea of the state counsel that lawyer Harish Salve, who was to argue the matter on behalf of Bihar government, had not yet arrived.

The government had challenged the acquittal of the VIP couple in the case by special CBI judge Muni Lal Paswan on December 18, 2006.

In its petition, the state government had maintained that the lower court was not under obligation to pass the order on the basis of the findings of the appellate tribunal of the Income Tax.

The petitioner had also alleged that the lower court had overlooked the evidence brought against Mr Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi by the prosecution during the trial in the case before the special court.
